Seminar on Value-Oriented Education, Dhaka

A seminar titled “Role of value-oriented education for the harmony and development of the society” was held at Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka on 2 December, 2017 attracting a huge gathering. The Seminar, arranged in two sessions, commenced with the recitations from holy scriptures (the Holy Quran, Bible, Tripitaka and Veda). Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman of University Grants Commission, Bangladesh, addressed the 1st session as the Chief Guest.

Swami Nikhileshwarananda, Adhyaksha of Ramakrishna Ashrama, Rajkot, India, who was the chief discussant of this seminar expounded the topic and made the august gathering spell bounded by his excellent presentation. With Swami Shaktinathananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Sevashrama, in the chair, the 1st session of this seminar was also addressed by Swami Hitakamananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Ashrama, Agartala.  Among the participants Shibaji Roy Mridul, a student of Ramakrishna Mission High School, Dhaka, Miss Maria, a student of Ispahani Girls’ School and College, Dhaka, Fayez Ullah, a student of History Department, University of Dhaka delivered speech in the 1st session.  Swami Dhruveshananda, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, welcomed all with a short speech while a written speech of benediction by Srimat Swami Ameyanandaji Maharaj has been read out by Swami Devadhyanananda. The 1st session was ended with the vote of thanks by Swami Gurusevananda of Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka.

The 2nd session was graced by His Excellency Md. Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal MP Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Home affairs, Govt. of People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Mr. Kazi Feroj Rashid (MP) as the Honourable Guest addressed the 2nd session. Mr. Milton Kumar Dev, associate professor, University of Dhaka presented the main article of this seminar, while Swami Shiratmananda Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Ashrama, Chandpur discussed on this article in this session. Four persons on behalf of the guardians, a student of Notre Dame College and a student of Jagannath University among the participants also spoke in the 2nd session. Swami Vedamayananda Maharaj delivered welcome speech in the 2nd session while Prof. Kalyanmoy Sarker delivered vote of thanks.

Question – Answar event in the 2nd session of this seminar was a glaring one when Swami Nikhilesharanda was answering the questions of the participants by his great insight and experience in this field. About 750 people including students, teachers and parents participated in the seminar.
