Flood Relief Work (July 2017)

West Bengal

In the wake of torrential rains and flooding of vast areas of the state, the Ramakrishna Mission has launched extensive flood relief efforts in various parts of West Bengal since 26 July 2017.

Primary relief work is being conducted in various parts of Hooghly, Howrah, East Medinipur and West Medinipur districts. Our Antpur, Belgharia, Gourhati, Ichapur, Kamarpukur and Saradapitha centres have already started distribution of dry food materials among thousands of affected families in areas like Amta, Arambag, Udaynarayanpur, Khanakul, Ghatal, etc. Further Reports are awaited.

 

Gujarat

Many parts of Gujarat were hit by unexpected heavy rains causing severe floods. Our Rajkot and Limbdi centres served cooked food and distributed dry food materials among more than 18,000 flood-affected people of Morbi and Surendranagar districts. Vadodara centre is undertaking primary relief work in Palanpur area in the worst affected Banaskantha district in north Gujarat by distributing 1000 kits containing various dry food materials and plastic-sheets among flood-affected families. Further Reports are awaited.

The relief work will be further expanded depending upon the situation.
