Our Tamluk ashrama organized the 36th Youth Convention (Yuva Sammelan) in the Ashrama premises on 1 September 2017. 322 students and 50 volunteers attended the convention along with few young guests.
The Convention starts with the chanting of Vedic Shanti Mantras and Saraswati Vandana. Welcome address was delivered by Swami Shrutisarananda. Participant school students chanted Swadesh Mantra, sang devotional songs, read from Swamiji’s Works, recited poems, told short stories from Swamiji’s life. There were three eminent speakers Sri Pratap Chandra Maity, Sri Saroj Kumar Jana and Sri Ashis Kumar Patra, delivered lecturers on Swami Vivekananda’s teachings on Values and Ethics, Swamiji’s view on Indian Cultural Traditions, and about Rationalistic Swamiji respectively. Swami Mahatapananda delivered speech about the Youth Convention objectives and our responsibilities. There was a Question-Answer session before the Convention ends with the Thanks Giving speech by Swami Vinishchayananda and closing song by Sri Sumahan Adhikary.
