Ramakrishna Math, Koyilandy Celebrates 110 Years of Spiritual Service
Ramakrishna Math, Koyilandy, commemorated 110 years of dedicated spiritual service, marking its establishment as the first Ramakrishna Math in the Malabar region of Kerala on March 30, 1915. To honor this milestone, the Math celebrated its 110th anniversary on Sunday, March 16, 2025.
Tribute to the Monastic Dedication
The Math recognized the tireless efforts of its resident monks, whose unwavering spiritual practice has inspired and drawn numerous devotees seeking solace and guidance.
Spiritual and Cultural Celebrations
The event commenced with soulful bhajans by the Saptaswara Music Concert Group, followed by Vedic prayers recited by the students of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.
Three esteemed speakers shared their profound insights on the lives and teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, Ma Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda:
- Swami Bhuvanathmananda, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Kochi
- Swami Sadbhavananda, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Thrissur
- Mr. Manoj Kumar, Principal, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Kozhikode
Throughout the event, the Saptaswara Music Group continued to enhance the spiritual atmosphere with their melodious performances.
Scholarship for a Deserving Student
Upholding the ideal of “Jagat Hitaya Cha” (for the welfare of the world), the Math extended financial assistance to Miss Deepna, a meritorious MBBS student from the fishermen community. A scholarship cheque covering her hostel fees for the 2024-2025 academic year was presented to support her education.
Conclusion and Prasad Distribution
The celebration concluded with the distribution of snacks and prasad packets to around 150 devotees, including students, marking the end of a spiritually uplifting event.
