Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Ashrama, Raipur organized a huge procession of students of various schools, colleges, and universities of Raipur city, in commemoration of the 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Addresses.
About 800 delegates took part in the procession. The procession started from the ashrama at 9.00 am. The Mayor of Raipur, Nagar Palika Nigam Sri Pramod ji Dubey waved the green flag signal to the procession. The rally reached Vivekananda Sarovar via Azad chowk, Gandhi chowk and Kankali para. The devotees of the ashram also took part in the procession.
There is a big statue of Swami Vivekananda in the meditation posture. The sadhu’s of the Ashrama performed puja and the delegates offered flowers at the feet of Swami Vivekananda. After the puja water pouch and lozenges were distributed to all the participants. The procession returned back to the Ashrama at 11.15 am.
In the ashrama campus the Secretary distributed the ‘Chicago Addresses’ book in Hindi and also spoke about the importance of 11 September. The food prasad was given to all the participants in the Ashrama.
On this Historic day Raipur Ashrama released a DVD/ Pendrive of digitized archives of Vivek Jyoti a Hindi monthly magazine.
On 23 September 2018, the Ashrama organized a Youth Convention on “Personality Development and Character Building”. Dr. Himanshu Dwivedi an editor of Haribhumi Daily Newspaper of Raipur was the chief guest for the function. He spoke on the subject “Atmavikas ke Sopan”. Swami Sevavratananda, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Bilaspur was also present as a speaker for the function. He delivered a lecture on “Yuvko ke Prati – Swami Vivekananda”. Dr. Omprakash Verma, Secretary of Vivekananda Vidyapith, Raipur spoke on the topic “Swami Vivekananda ka Rashtraprem”. He is well known orator in the Hindi region. Swami Satyarupananda presided the function. He told the students about the basic principles of the personality development and character building for their successful future.
The Chicago address book in Hindi was distributed to all the participants. Noon Prasad was given to all the students. Almost 200 students were present for the function.
Swami Avyayatmananda welcomed the students and the guests for the convention.,Swami Devabhavananda anchored the youth convention from 9.00 am to 12.00 morning. The vote of thanks wass given by Swami Vrajanathananda.
