Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad organised a few programmes to commemorate the 129th anniversary of the Chicago addresses and the 23rd foundation day of Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence on 11 and 13 September 2022.
On 11 September 2022, the centre put garlands and offered floral tributes on Swamiji’s statue at Tank Bund. The inaugural address of Swamiji was read out in English and Telugu, Bhajans were sung, Vedic mantras were chanted and an arati to Swamiji was performed. Sri V V Lakshminarayan IPS retired and former ADGP, Maharashtra Police was the guest of honour. Nearly 250 devotees and students attended the function.
In the centre organised a musical discourse on VIVEKANANDA MAHIMA in Hindi and English by Surmani Dr Dattatreya Velankar, a Hindustani classical musician and devotee from Bengaluru. About 500 devotees participated and rejoiced in the bhajans and the talk.
On 13 September 2022, the centre organised a combined function to commemorate the Chicago addresses anniversary and the 23rd foundation day of VIHE. Dr (Smt ) Tamilisai Soundarajan, Hon’ble Governor of Telangana and Hon’ble Lt Governor, Puducherry visited the Math and was the chief guest.
A youth convention was held in the morning. The hon’ble Governor spoke eloquently on the message of Swami Vivekananda and said if the students read the teachings of Swamiji it will act as an anti-depressant and new strength will dawn in their minds.
The response from the educational institutions and the devotees was overwhelming and nearly 2,200 youths, faculty members and the public participated. Dr Jayaprakash Narayan, Retired IAS, a well-known officer and former MLA, was a guest speaker. A pictorial biography of Revered Swami Ranganathanandaji Maharaj was released on the sacred occasion. All the participants were presented with a book on Swamiji’s biography and a certificate.
