In order to propagate and reinforce spiritual values amongst citizenry, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Prayagraj, conducted every Sunday all over the year Value Education Programs on Human Resources Development, Self-Development, Leadership and Personality Development etc. for students of educational institutions through Vivekananda Study Circle, since July 2008.
On 09th July 2023 the Study Circle celebrated its 15th Foundation Day at Vijnanananda Satsang Bhawan, Ramakrishna Math, Prayagraj. Shri Kavindra Pratap Singh (I.P.S), former Inspector General of Police, Prayagraj range Uttar Pradesh graced the occasion as Chief Guest of the programme. Swami Akshayananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Prayagraj presided over the function.
The commemoration of the auspicious event was started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp and with the Vedic invocation by the monks of the Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Prayagraj and the members of the Study Circle. The ceremonial lamp was lit by Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Prayagraj, Swami Akshayananda, along with the Chief Guest. Welcome address and introductory Speech was delivered by Swami Karunananda highlighting the evolution of the Study Circle in the recent past.
Swadesh Mantra of Swami Vivekananda was recited by the youth of Vivekananda Study Circle. Further Ms. Sonam Mishra, Ms. Kajal Kesarwani, Mr. Swapnil Gupta, Mr. Ramesh Yadav, Mr. Harsh Vijay vividly shared their experiences of being a member of the Study Circle. Chief Guest Shri Kavindra Pratap Singh motivated the youths by giving inspiring lectures on how to achieve the goal of having faith in themselves as evinced by Swami Vivekananda. He also emphasized upon the need and essential requirement of the girls’ students to take care of their health and vocation as envisaged by Swami Vivekananda. In his presidential address, Swami Akshayananda conveyed his thoughts to youth to come forward in nation building by assimilating the ideal “Man Making and Nation Building” of Swami Vivekananda. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Uma Sharma. Opening and closing song performed by Ms. Shivani Kesarwani.
The entire program was coordinated and conducted by Shri Saurabh Mishra, member of the Study Circle. The programme concluded with the National Anthem. At the end of the programme refreshments were distributed among all the delegates which were more than 100 in number.
