The 17th Annual Convocation of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (Deemed Univerity declared by Govt. of India under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956) was held at Saradananda Seminar Hall in Prajna Bhavan of the University’s main campus at Belur, on 10 October 2022 afternoon.
Dr H. Sudarshan, Founder and Secretary, Vivekananada Girijana Kalyana Kendra and Karuna Trust, Bengaluru, recipient of several national and international awards like the ‘Padmashree’ and the ‘Right Livelihood’ (also called Alternative Nobel Prize award), was present as the Guest-in-Chief and delivered the convocation address.
On this occasion, Dr H. Sudarshan was awarded the degree of Doctorate of Science (D.Sc.) (Honoris Causa) by the University for his selfless service to humanity, particularly the rural and tribal population, through his ‘Integrated Rural and Tribal Development Project’ with special emphasis on health and education.
Swami Suvirananda ji, Chancellor of the University and General Secretary of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, presided over the ceremony and delivered the Chancellor’s Address.
