To commemorate the 77th Independence Day and to mark the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), a one day Free Medical Camp was organised by Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Contai, Purba Medinipur, on 15 August 2023, in the premises of Aladarput Vivekananda Yuva Mahamandal, at Aladarput, a backward area under Contai Block, District – Purba Medinipur.
7 specialist doctors treated 115 needy patients of which 37 hailed from S. C., S. T. & OBC communities. The doctors were assisted by 10 Paramedical staff and 10 Volunteers of Aladarput Vivekananda Yuva Mahamandal.
The camp was formally inaugurated by Dr. Sukumar Panigrahi, a Senior renowned Physician of Contai Town at 11.00 a.m. in the presence of patients, students and villagers. It continued up to 2.30 p.m. During the medical service, the team of specialist doctors present at the camp devoted some time in creating a sense of health awareness amongst the patients. Swami Mayadhishananda, Secretary of the Sevashrama acted as the coordinator of the entire programme.
Patients from far off places attended the medical camp for health check-up & treatment. All types of medicines were supplied free of cost.
