Ramakrishna Mission, Kalyani is helping the socially and economically distressed section of the society, by distributing groceries on the third Sunday of every month. This is a part of the welfare service, Shiva Jnane Jeeva Seva. Such an activity was held on 20 August 2023 at the Universal Prayer Hall of the ashrama. The total number of people served were 98.
The welfare service began by the chanting of holy hymns and invocation of the Holy Trio at the main shrine of the Centre. Following the chanting, each recipient was welcomed by sandal paste tilak and garland.
During the activity, distribution of rice, pulses, soybean, salt, potato, puffed rice and tea leaves were done among each recipient. The monks and devotees of the Ashrama participated in the service.
