The southern part of Chittagong and the Bandarban hilly areas were flooded due to 7/8 consecutive days of heavy rain, in the beginning of August 2023, and many houses were destroyed by floods. A few people died too. The communication system broke as the road was under the water for more than 10 days.
On Friday 18 August 2023, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Chittagong, distributed groceries (10 kg of rice, 1 kg of dal, 1 kg of salt and 2 kg of potatoes to each family in a total of 3500 kg of rice, 350 kg of dal, 350 kg of salt and 700 kg of potatoes among 350 families.
