After a break of more than two years, the Bhakta Sammelan (Devotees’ Convention) was held on Sunday, 10 September 2023 at Ramakrishna Mission TB Sanatorium, Ranchi. ‘The ideal daily life of a devotee’ was chosen as the theme of the Sammelan.
The Sammelan was commenced with a serene ambience in offering of flowers (pushpanjali) by the devotees to the Holy Trio followed by vedic chanting and singing the suprabhatam bhajan by the monks. It was followed by the Welcome Address by Swami Satsangananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission TB Sanatorium, Ranchi. The atmosphere was charged with positivity and devotion, setting the tone for the day’s proceedings.
The main highlights were the enlightening spiritual discourses delivered by the esteemed speakers. Swami Bhaveshananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi, Ranchi, enlightened all by providing insights into the ‘Teachings of the Holy Mother’.
Swami Jnanalokananda ji Maharaj, Secretary, Swami Vivekananda’s Ancestral House and Cultural Centre, Kolkata, eloquently spoke about the ‘Ideal daily life of a devotee’ by guiding towards a more meaningful and fulfilling existence – the essence of spiritual living which was followed by question – answer session.
A significant aspect of the retreat was the guided meditation session led by Swami Jnanalokanandaji Maharaj. The day’s proceeding drew to a close with concluding speech by Swami Satsangananda, and the closing song (Ramakrishna Sharanam) by all. Cooked prasad was served to all.
