The National Youth Day was celebrated on 12th January 2024 at Ramakrishna Mission TB Sanatorium, Ranchi, in presence of more than 1000 students, teachers and devotees. Starting from Bermad School, Balsiring Road, Tupudana at 09:00 in the morning the students and teachers from Mahatma Gandhi School, Mother Teresa Memorial School, St. Thomas High School, Vivekananda Middle School RK Mission, Sri Govind High School, Vivekananda Abhyudaya Prakalpa, and Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa join the devotees and monks of Ramakrishna Mission and marched in a long procession with posters and placards in hand on Swamiji’s teachings and photos to Vivekananda Circle in the Sanatorium to garland the statue of Swami Vivekananda, and offered flowers in presence of the tune of Band by students.
The students then proceed to the celebration mandap. Swami Satsanganandaji Maharaj, the Secretary of the ashrama, delivered the welcome address. The students then actively participated in the competitions consisting of brief speeches on ‘Swamiji’s life & teachings’, and recitations on ‘Prabuddha Bharata’ & ‘Swamiji’s Swadesh Mantra’ by the junior group (Std. VI-VII) and senior group (Std. VIII-IX) of students respectively. Group songs and cultural group dances were also performed by the students from the participating schools. Sri Kamlesh Prasad, Livelihood Specialist of World Bank & Sri Abhaya Shankar, Rtd District Education Officer, West Singhbhum were the Special Guest and the Chief Guest on the occasion respectively. Top three winners of the competitions in each category were felicitated with prizes handed over by the presiding guests. The programme ends with the closing song by the students of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa which was followed by distribution of cooked prasad to all present on the occasion.
