The 40th National Youth Day 2024, was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm by Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Prayagraj with due solemnity on 12th January, 2024.
This grand celebration started with garlanding and flowering of Swamiji’s statue on the Swami Vivekananda Statue Circle, Civil Lines, Prayagraj at 8.30 A.M. The cold wave sweeping that part of the country could not dampen the exuberant spirit of the participating near about 200 students from 10 schools from Prayagraj, rendering patriotic songs, and short speeches on the topic ‘life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda to Rebuild India’.
With the Vedic invocation by the monks of the Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Prayagraj, the ceremonial lamp was lit by Swami Akshayananda, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Prayagraj, along with Chief Guest Associate Professor Dr. Santosh Kumar Srivastava, Department of Chemistry, C.M.P. Degree College, Prayagraj and Special Guest Dr. Rajesh Garg, Associate Professor Department of Hindi, University of Allahabad, at 10:00 A.M. and the seminar started. The day’s celebration was presided over by Swami Akshayananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Prayagraj.
Eminent guests, who had enhanced the richness of the assemblage, were felicitated by the youth participants of Vivekananda Study Centre, after which Swami Karunananda introduced the distinguished guests and delivered the welcome address. Swadesh Mantra of Swami Vivekananda was recited by Sri Sachin Tiwari, member of Study Circle conducted by Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Prayagraj. Students from 8 different schools placed their views on Swami Vivekananda along with a group song which earned loud applause from the admiring guests and audience.
Special Guest Dr. Rajesh Garg, in his speech captured the many valuable teachings imparted by the prince amongst monks, Swami Vivekananda. The Chief Guest of the program, Associate Professor Dr. Santosh Kumar Srivastava, delivered a lecture on life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The program was concluded by the Presidential address by Swami Akshayananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Prayagraj.
The conclusion of the grand celebration was the closing song performed by students of Sindhu Vidya Mandir Inter College Prayagraj and was followed by the vote of thanks given by Swami Sarvadharananda. The entire program was coordinated and faithfully conducted by Shri Joydeep Ganguli, Lecturer, Anglo Bengali Inter College, Prayagraj. Books on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda were distributed and food was served to all who were present at the occasion.
