On January 12th, 2024, Ramakrishna Math, Haripad, hosted a three-hour Youth Program attracting 143 students. This immersive event aimed to engage and inspire young minds, encouraging them to explore their potential and contribute positively to society.
The program followed a well-structured format, fostering both reflection and interaction:
- Opening Ceremony: Traditional rituals like lighting the lamp, prayers, and garlanding Swami Vivekananda’s photo set the stage for a reverent atmosphere.
- Program Introduction: A video shed light on the significance of January 12th, National Youth Day, highlighting Swami Vivekananda’s message for the younger generation.
- Interactive Learning:
- The first talk focused on “Concentration as a Skill,” emphasizing its importance in academic and personal growth. This session, enhanced by a video, encouraged students to develop their focus and concentration abilities.
- “Desha Bhakti” (devotion to the nation) formed the theme of the second talk. Interactive activities and inspiring videos fueled discussions on responsible citizenship and contributing to nation-building.
- Refreshment and Recognition: A tea and snack break provided an opportunity for students to socialize and reflect on the learnings.
- Meaningful Gestures:
- To foster a connection with Swami Vivekananda, the Ashrama presented a photo of the revered monk to the school.
- Students and the school library received book gifts, fostering their intellectual and spiritual growth.
Continuing the Momentum:
This program was one of several youth initiatives by Ramakrishna Math, Haripad. They conducted additional programs on January 29th and 30th, reiterating their commitment to empowering young minds and shaping responsible citizens.
