Summer Camp: Mysuru, April 2024


Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru organized a summer camp (Vasanta Vihara) from 14th – 21st April 2024 in which 112 (64 boys and 48 girls) students participated. During this camp, classes on Yogasana, Bhajans and Gardening were held on a daily basis.

Monks and Eminent orators delivered talks on various topics including life and teachings of Holy Trio, stories from Ramayana, herbs and home remedies, dental health and hygiene awareness, Digital deaddiction and creative writing.

Creative sessions on dramatics, art, pottery, enacting parables of Sri Ramakrishna using self-made masks and props, practical demonstration on how a post office works and biological drawings were conducted from which the participants benefited very much. Special sessions on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), and Math activities were also held.

Breakfast and juice refreshments were served to all every day and lunch was served on 4 days.

The camp concluded on 21 April 2024 in which Matrivandana, a unique event wherein each participant worshipped their mother was held. Students displayed yogasanas, performed a short drama based on the parables of Sri Ramakrishna and sang devotional songs in front of a full gathering including their parents.

Certificates of participation were given to all and prizes were awarded to the best participants among boys and girls.
