Ramakrishna Math, Rajkot, hosted a vibrant summer program called Vivekananda Sanskar Shibir from May 5th to 19th. This camp catered to children from grades 1 to 8, with a remarkable participation of 267 enthusiastic youngsters.
A Journey of Learning and Fun
The camp curriculum offered a delightful mix of activities designed to nurture the minds and bodies of the participants. Children explored the rich Indian heritage through Veda Path (Vedic chants), Gita Path (Bhagavad Gita recitation), and stories of Swami Vivekananda. Engaging audio-visual presentations further enriched their learning experience.
Beyond academics, the camp fostered creativity through art and craft sessions, while games, fun and fitness activities ensured a healthy dose of physical activity. Yoga sessions promoted well-being, while dialogues, brain games, and play-acting honed their social and communication skills. Chorus singing instilled a sense of teamwork and community spirit.
A Memorable Farewell
To commemorate their participation, all children received a stationary kit and story books on Swami Vivekananda. These gifts served as a reminder of the valuable lessons learned during the camp.
Empowering Parents
Recognizing the crucial role of parents, the camp organizers also held a special seminar on “Effective Parenting” on May 19th. Nearly 200 parents actively participated in the session, gaining valuable insights into nurturing character development in their children. Parenting books and books on Swami Vivekananda’s teachings were distributed to the parents at the seminar’s conclusion, equipping them with additional knowledge for raising well-rounded individuals.
