Supporting the Community:
The Ramakrishna Centre of South Africa, Phoenix provided vital assistance to 245 families in May 2024. The specific groceries and other items distributed are not mentioned, but their efforts undoubtedly brought much-needed relief to the community.
Large-Scale Medical Camp:
On May 5th, 2024, the Centre’s medical wing, the Ramakrishna Clinic of South Africa – Phoenix, conducted a remarkable multi-speciality Medical Camp. Held at the Verulam Day and Frail Care Centre in Verulam, Durban, the camp operated from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offering free consultations and services to the community.
Impressive Medical Expertise:
A dedicated team of 69 medical staff, primarily specialists, along with 80 support staff members, ensured the smooth operation of the camp. Internal medicine, rheumatology, paediatrics, ophthalmology, and dentistry were just some of the medical disciplines represented. Additionally, the camp offered advanced diagnostic services such as ultrasonography, electrocardiography (ECG), and laboratory testing.
Comprehensive Care:
The camp’s commitment extended beyond consultations. A remarkable 1223 patients received free medical attention, including necessary medications, eyeglasses, and even hearing aids. To further support those attending, the Centre also generously sponsored 1,000 freshly cooked meals for the patients.
