On the auspicious day of Rathayatra, Ramakrishna Mission, Krishnanagar conducted a spiritual retreat for over 150 devotees on July 7th, 2024.
The retreat began at the temple with chanting Vedic Mantras, followed by Japa and meditation. Swami Vishwamayananda (Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Sargachi), Swami Mangaleshananda (Ramakrishna Mission, Krishnanagar), Swami Dhyeyananda (Ramakrishna Mission Calcutta Students’ Home, Belgharia, Kolkata), and Professor Shiharan Chakravorty were the speakers for the celebration.
Professor Shiharan Chakravorty spoke about Rathayatra and Srikrishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. The other Swamis delivered valuable speeches on the Holy Trio – the ideas and ideals of Ramakrishna, Ma Sarada, and Swami Vivekananda. In between the speeches, devotional songs were sung by Shyamsundar Das. After that, all the devotees participated in a cooked prasad.
In the evening, after the Aratrika of Sri Ramakrishna, a musical program featuring Lilagiti of ‘Sri Krishner Balyalila’ was held. Nearly 100 devotees received prasad by hand at the end of this program.
