Ramakrishna Mission, Kalyani celebrated ‘Guru Purnima’ with devotion on July 21st, 2024. The day began with Mangal Arati at 4:00 AM. Over 200 devotees participated in a special puja and Pushpanjali at 8:30 AM.
The first session of the ‘Devotees Convention’ commenced with Vedic Chanting at the Vivekananda Auditorium at 9:30 AM. More than 350 devotees participated in guided chanting, Japa, and meditation. Swami Debatwananda ji, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Belur Math, delivered a discourse on “Guru Tattwa” as the special guest. This program was live-streamed on two giant screens outside the auditorium. The session concluded with a Q&A session and prasad distribution to over 1250 devotees.
The second session started with devotional songs by Shri Prakash Choudhury. Swami Durganathananda presented ‘Kathay o Gaane’ on ‘Guru SakasheSishya’. Swami Tattwasarananda ji, Principal of Brahmacharin Training Centre, Belur Math, graced the occasion and awarded the ‘Swami Prabhananda’ Scholarship to 10 meritorious students in need. He also delivered a discourse on ‘Guru-Krishna-Vaishnav’. The program ended with a closing song, Q&A session, and peace chanting at 5:30 PM.
