Flood Relief: Rahara, August 2024

Ramakrishna Mission Boys’ Home, Rahara, Kolkata


In response to recent heavy rainfall causing significant flooding in Barrackpore-II Block, North 24-Parganas District, the Ramakrishna Mission Boys’ Home, Rahara, Kolkata mobilized a swift relief effort.

The initiative focused on providing immediate sustenance to affected families. Hot meals consisting of khichuri, a nutritious lentil and rice dish, accompanied by potato curry, were distributed to residents in Doperia, Dangladighla, and surrounding villages within Patulia Panchayat and Barrackpore Municipality.

This commendable action by the Ramakrishna Mission Boys’ Home ensured the well-being of 726 families, totaling 3467 individuals, who were facing food insecurity due to the flooding.
