To commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Addresses, the Ramakrishna Mission, Rajamahendravaram hosted separate youth conventions for boys and girls on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
Swami Sashikantananda, Dr. Goli Rama Rao (a renowned general physician), and other center monks addressed the students on topics related to the historic Chicago addresses.
Winners of the “Sri Sarada Devi Scholarship Test” among V.I.H.E. girl students were awarded cash prizes and books, including consolation prizes.
In the afternoon, the Vivekananda Circle at Kambala Tank witnessed the garlanding of Swamiji’s statue, Aarati, and Vedic chanting. All students recited the Chicago Address, followed by speeches from monks and students highlighting the significance and impact of Swami Vivekananda’s historic speech.
A total of 350 students participated in the program and received Swamiji’s literature. Snacks were provided to all attendees.
