The day commenced with a vibrant “Shobha Yatra” (procession) that snaked through the busy market places of Purnea, covering a distance of approximately 2 kilometers. Students from various schools and colleges, along with adults, enthusiastically participated in the procession, spreading the message of Swami Vivekananda.
Following the procession, a “Yuva-Sabha” (Youth Convention) was held in an open pandal. Approximately 550 students, teachers, guardians, and eminent citizens attended the gathering. Eminent speakers addressed the audience, highlighting the profound influence of Swami Vivekananda’s life and teachings on personal, social, and national development. Swami Jitendrananda also delivered an inspiring address to the gathering.
A significant event during the celebrations was the inauguration of a “Vivekananda Study Circle” at the campus of Vidya Vihar Institute of Technology. Swami Jitendrananda emphasized the importance of studying the lives and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna, and Ma Sarada Devi for personal and professional growth. He suggested that the study circle members dedicate one hour per week to reading and discussing the teachings of these revered masters. He assured the members that monks from the Ramakrishna Mission would occasionally join their discussions and provide guidance. The Ramakrishna Mission, Purnea, provided the study circle with a collection of books on Swami Vivekananda’s literature to facilitate their learning. Approximately 65-70 students and teachers attended the inauguration of the study circle.
All participants were served a delicious noon prasad, including khichuri, vegetables, chatani, and payas.
