Silver Jubilee Celebration of Universal Temple of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna, Chennai, March 2025

The Silver Jubilee celebration of the Universal Temple of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna at Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, was held on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025. The day included a Chandi Homa in the morning and a public meeting in the evening.

The public meeting began with an Opening Song by Swami Shankaratmananda and a warm Welcome Address by Swami Satyajnanananda. Two insightful talks followed: Swami Jnanavratananda, Manager, Ramakrishna Math, Belur Math, spoke on the “Significance of Temple Worship in Spiritual Life,” while Swami Atmapriyananda, Pro-Chancellor of RKMVERI, Belur, delivered a talk (in Tamil) on “The Universal Temple of Sri Ramakrishna – A Symbol of the Synthesis of Four Yogas.” Most Revered President Maharaj, Swami Gautamananda ji, described the temple’s construction and offered benediction during the meeting. Approximately 750 devotees attended the public meeting. At noon, 5,750 devotees were served cooked prasadam.

A musical concert by the renowned Carnatic musicians, the Trichur Brothers, added to the spiritual atmosphere.

In commemoration of this milestone, a large gathering of devotees participated in the chanting of Sanskrit mantras and Tamil devotional hymns from March 17th to 21st. An average of 500 devotees attended daily and were served cooked prasadam.
