A Maternity and Child Welfare Service is being conducted at Ramakrishna Mission, Somsar, through which 25 children and 3 mothers are being served, making the total number of beneficiaries 28.
Dr. Sudipta Dasgupta, a child specialist from SSKM Hospital, is being invited to visit the Medical Dispensary at Somsar at regular intervals — specifically on every 4th Monday of the month — to ensure that the health of mothers and children is being properly monitored.
Nutritious food kits are being provided throughout the year to both mothers and children. In the baby food kit, the following items are included:
- Cerelac
- 40 grams of cereal grain
- 15 grams of moong dal
- 20 grams of sugar
- Boiled egg
- Dates (approximately 25 pieces)
For the mothers, 500 grams of Horlicks are being distributed as a multi-nutritional supplement. Furthermore, the micronutrient intake is being carefully monitored through the administration of vitamin drops and medicines.nt.
