A group formed in San Francisco and on April 14 they officially organized the “Vedanta Class”, which later became known as the Vedanta Society of San Francisco, now known as “Vedanta Society of Northern California”. Swami Vivekananda himself attended that meeting and blessed the gathering.

• A large, historic photograph of Swami Vivekananda-taken at the time of the Society’s inception in 1900-was unveiled by Swami Tattwamayananda to honor Swamiji’s enduring legacy.

• Over 150 devotees, including monks and nuns from nearby Vedanta centers, attended the event, reflecting the Society’s continued role as a spiritual hub in Northern California.
