Ramakrishna Math, Koyilandy observed the 128th Foundation Day of the Ramakrishna Mission on Thursday, May 1, 2025, with solemn devotion and grandeur.
The celebration commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony led by Swami Narasimhananda, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Kozhikode, in the presence of fellow monks and devotees.
The programme then moved to the Ashrama Auditorium, beginning with a Vedic prayer by the students of the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP). After the welcome and felicitation of guests, three distinguished speakers delivered thought-provoking addresses: Swami Narasimhananda and Swami Avatarananda of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Kozhikode, and Sri Ajit Kumar, Convener of Ramakrishna Bhavaprachar Parishad, Kerala. Their messages focused on the spiritual ideals and social relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s vision.
The first session concluded with a vote of thanks followed by the distribution of prasadam (snacks and sweets) to around 170 attendees.
The second session of the day featured a Cultural Fest presented by the GAP students. The children exhibited their talents through speeches, devotional songs, dances, and a drama centered on Sri Ramakrishna’s message to Narendranath Dutta (later Swami Vivekananda). The event concluded with the distribution of medals to all participants and the National Anthem, sung in unison by all present.
