Ramakrishna Mission, Kadapa successfully organized a summer camp for children between the ages of 8 and 16. Held from May 5th to 19th, 202Ramakrishna Mission, Kadapa, conducted a non-residential Summer Camp for children aged 8 to 16 years from 25 April to 9 May 2025, with a total participation of 162 children.
The camp followed a structured daily schedule from 7:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., which included prayer slokas, yogasanas, breakfast, chanting of stotras, bhajans, and value education through stories from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Srimad Bhagavatam, and the lives of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda, and other noble personalities. Drawing and handicrafts were also part of the daily activities.
Special features of the camp included:
- A trekking trip to the nearby scenic hillock Palakonda
- Padapuja by children to their parents, to instill respect and gratitude towards elders
- Competitions in stotra recitation, bhajans, yogasanas, drawing, and handicrafts, which saw enthusiastic participation from the children
The camp concluded on 9 May with a Valedictory Function, during which children once again performed Padapuja to their parents. Prizes were distributed to winners of various competitions. Dr. K. Obula Reddy, a renowned paediatrician of Kadapa and a member of the Ashrama’s Managing Committee, graced the event as Chief Guest and delivered an inspiring address.
The camp was a joyful and value-oriented experience for the children, blending physical activity, spiritual learning, and creative expression.
