Youth Camp: Hyderabad, June 2025

Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad

Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad organized its annual residential youth camp, SHAURYA (signifying the message of fearlessness, strength, sacrifice, and service), at the premises of Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence from 19th to 22nd June 2025. The three-day, three-night camp was a transformative experience filled with intensity, inspiration, and inner awakening for about 140 youth delegates and 20 volunteers, aged between 18 to 35 years, ranging from undergraduate students to working professionals.

Participants came from diverse regions including Telangana, New Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, and Mysuru. The camp schedule was purposefully designed and included Yoga, Meditation, interactive sessions on Swami Vivekananda’s message, an introduction to the Upanishads, and case studies on psychological challenges faced by modern youth. Other activities included devotional music, group discussions, and a visit to Mehboob College – the historic place where Swamiji delivered his first speech before embarking to America.

The monks of Hyderabad Math, senior faculty members of VIHE, and a few external experts engaged the participants throughout the camp, offering spiritual, philosophical, and psychological insights.

The camp concluded with the chorus singing of “Ramakrishna Sharanam” bhajan by all the delegates, followed by the distribution of certificates and booklets, marking the end of a deeply meaningful and enriching experience.
