Relief Activities: Varanasi, July 2025

Ramakrishna Mission Home of Service, Varanasi

During July 2025, Vivek Sanjivani, the healthcare and education initiative of Ramakrishna Mission Home of Service, Varanasi, extended its outreach through medical relief, nutritional support, and child welfare programmes in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

  • Medical Relief (NCD Screenings):
Mobile health units conducted village-based screenings for hypertension, diabetes, oral cancer, and breast cancer in four districts across two states, reaching 1237 beneficiaries in Varanasi, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra (Aspirational District, UP), and Udham Singh Nagar (Aspirational District, Uttarakhand).
  • Nutrition for Chronic Illness Patients:
Nutrient-rich food supplements were provided to patients with diabetes, hypertension, epilepsy, and other chronic disorders in villages of Mirzapur and Sonbhadra. Support included over 155 kg Daliya and Soyabari, benefiting nearly 175 patients.
  • Child Welfare (Education & Nutrition):
Food, study materials, and hygiene kits were distributed to 90 children in Lalganj (Azamgarh) and Rampur (Mirzapur). Support included nutritious items such as milk, dry fruits, and sweets, along with school uniforms, exercise books, and stationery.

Through this integrated approach, the Mission addressed health, nutrition, and education needs in some of the most underserved rural communities, ensuring holistic development and welfare.
