Vivekananda Ashrama, Shyamlatal (Uttarakhand) had organised a “National Seminar” on the occasion of 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Addresses, at the Government Degree College, Tanakpur, Champawat, on 28 August 2019.
The programme started at 10.45 am and continued up to 5 pm.
Advocate Shri Vipin Kumar, Chairman, Municipality of Tanakpur, was the President of the Seminar.
Chief Guest was Shri S. N. Pandey, District Magistrate, Champawat.
Dr. Suchismita Sengupta Pandey, Additional Commisioner, Civil Suppliers & Consumer Protection, and also Member Secretary of State Food Commission (NFSA), Uttarakhand, was the Guest of Honour.
Special Guests were Swami Narasimhananda, Editor, Prabuddha Bharat; Shri Dayananda Saraswati, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Tanakpur, Champawat; Smt G. Prakash, Principal, Govt. Degree College, Tanakpur; Sri Sanjay Agarwal, Sr. CA.
About 400 delegates (class 11 & 12 standard students and degree students) participated from all the Inter-colleges and the degree college of the Tanakpur. Few of the students gave short speeches on Swami Vivekananda. They enthusiastically took part in the Interactive Session which was held in the afternoon.
The students of Gadadhar Abhydaya Prakalpa of the Vivekananda Ashram chanted Shanti Mantras, Swadesh Mantra of Swamiji and sang Bharat Vandana and the closing song.
Shri Rakesh Pandey, Principal, Vivekananda Vidyamandir, Tanakpur, gave the Vote of Thanks.
