Ramakrishna Math, Bamunmura organized a Youth Convention on 8 Sep 2019 as a part of the Concluding programmes of the 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Addresses.
Vedic Chanting, Recitation, Reading from Swamiji’s works, lectures, songs etc were the components of the programme.
Swami Balabhadranand, Asst. General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, presided over the function. Swami Shastrajnananda, Principal, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira was the main speaker.
Swami Durgatmananda, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Bamunmura presented the
welcome address.
Swami Balabhadranandji, Asst. General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math in his presidential address stressed the need of Swamiji’s Chicago Addresses even after 125 years.
In the post-lunch session Swami Balabhadranand spoke on the topic of women empowerment and education according to Swamiji’s thoughts. After the discussion, there was a QA session.
Total of 290 students, 50 teachers and another 50 Youth from different Youth Organizations took part in the programme.
Bamunmura Ashrama also celebrated the 125th Anniversary of Swamiji’s Chicago addresses on 11 September 2019 in Ashrama campus. Students of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa came to the Ashrama in a colourful procession in the morning, with Swamiji’s photos and banners. The guardians and teachers of the students also participated in the procession. Later, a cultural programme was held in the ashrama hall, where the students recited from Swamiji’s works, sang bhajans, and presented a drama on Swamiji.
