A Youth Convention as part of the concluding programme of 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Addresses was organized by Ramakrishna Math, Gourhati on 21 Sep 2019.
More than 120 students from different schools and organizations and about 15 teachers and others from different schools participated in it.
Swami Pranaramananda Maharaj, Adhyaksha of Ramakrishna Math, Gourhati presided over the ceremony.
The function with chanting of Vedic Hymns by the monks of the math which was followed by a song, ‘utho go bharat laxmi…’ sung by youths of Thakuranichak Swami Vivekananda Study Centre.
some poems of Swami Vivekananda were recited and some speeches on the importance of ‘Swami Vivekananda’s historic Chicago Address’ were delivered by some youths.
The teachers Mr. Shyamal Kumar Bhattacharya, Mr. Sisir Kumar Jana and Mr. Sandip Kumar Sinha gave their valuable speeches. Swami Pranaramananda spoke on the discovery of new India to the West.
