National Youth Day was celebrated at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Hatamuniguda on 12 January 2020. The programme started with chanting of Vedic chanting, garlanding Swamiji’s statue, reciting Swadesh Mantra of Swamiji.
An elocution competition was organized in which 56 students, in three different age groups, from 14 schools participated. The winners were awarded certificates and prizes. All the participants were presented with selected booklets on Swamiji’s life and teachings. This was followed by a public meeting addressed by Dr Radhanath Behera, Retired Principal, Kotpad Degree Collage, Koraput. Sri Arun Ghose, Formerly Curator, Festivals of India and Sri Debabrata Rajguru, Reader in English, Muniguda Collage also participated. About 900 persons, mainly students from different institutions attended the programme.
