Ramakrishna Mission, Saradapitha : COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Services


Ramakrishna Mission, Saradapitha (Belur Math) is continuing its relief services for low income and underprivileged families during these testing times of lockdown due to Coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic.

Dry Ration Kit Distribution:

Saradapitha distributed 19970 Kg Rice, 4774.5 Kg Dal, 1927 Liter Oil, 2689.5 Kg Salt, 68158 Biscuit Packets, 7249 Kg Onions, 14481 Kg Potatoes, 157 Kg Green Chili, 675 Kg Sugar, 350 Kg Soya Beans, 434 Kg Pumpkin, 400 Potato Chips, 600 packs of Amul Milk, 100 Bread Packets, 300 Kg Haldi and 2382 Kg Oats to 8464 families in Hooghly, Howrah, Nadia, North 24 Parganas and Paschim Midnapore Districts from 27 March to 19 May, 2020.

Sanitary and Hygiene Items Distribution:

Saradapitha distributed 19248 bars of soap, 24298 face masks and 2848 bottles of hand sanitizers to 8280 families, Police Stations and Hospitals in Hooghly, Howrah, Nadia, North 24 Parganas and Paschim Midnapore Districts from 27 March to 19 May, 2020.

Cooked Food Distribution:

Saradapitha served 122 plates of cooked food in Howrah District from 23 April to 01 May 2020.

Relief Services sponsored by Coal India:

Total 675 families have been given Relief items sponsored by Coal India Limited from 06 April to 10 April 2020.

The relief team of Saradapitha has distributed food and other basic essentials (Rice : 3 kg, Dal : 1 kg, salt, chillies, potatoes : 2 kg, onion 1 kg, mustard oil 500 gm, biscuit packets, soap and masks) to the needy families.

  • 25 families of porters and daily wage workers in Rasbari 118 No. Lane
  • 42 families of poor labourers residing in Hempal Lane
  • 56 families of Belur-Esplanade Minibus workers stationed at Belur Math bus stand
  • 70 families at Polba Dadpur Block, Badinan village in Hooghly district
  • 30 families in Chanda village
  • In Singur Block, 50 families of Basubati village
  • 50 families of Balarambati village in Singur Block

  • After an initial survey in underprivileged and lower-income group areas within 5KM radius of Belur Math – the relief team of Saradapitha distributed food and other basic essentials to 190 families in these areas.
  • Every package given to each family contained: Rice (3 kg), Dal (1kg), Onions (1Kg), Potatoes (2Kg), Mustard Oil (500 ml bottles), Salt (500g), Biscuit Packets (2 No.), Dettol Soaps (4 No.), Face Masks (6 pieces), Hand Sanitizer ( 1 bottle containing 200ml)
  • 320 Families of Aamta-2 and Bagnan-2 Block were provided with the aforementioned packages.

29 March 2020

  • After an initial survey in underprivileged and lower-income group areas within 5KM radius of Belur Math – the relief team of Saradapitha distributed food and other basic essentials to 300 families in these areas.
  • Every package given to each family contained: Rice (3 kg), Dal (1kg), Onions (1Kg), Potatoes (2Kg), Mustard Oil (500 ml bottles), Salt (500g), Biscuit Packets (2 No.), Dettol Soaps (4 No.), Face Masks (6 pieces), Hand Sanitizer ( 1 bottle containing 200ml)
  • 100 families of Jansalpur Village in Sankrail Block and P.S, Howrah Sadar Sub-division were also provided with similar aforementioned packages.
  • 75 Toto Drives, 4 Rickshaw Pullers and 1 Beggar were provided with the aforementioned packages.


Ramakrishna Mission Saradapitha conducted Relief Services to aid low income and underprivileged families during these testing times of lockdown due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, on 27 March 2020.

After an initial survey in underprivileged and lower-income group areas such as Belur Station Bazar Slum Area, Bali Sapuipara, Madhyampara – the relief team of Saradapitha distributed food and other basic essentials to 180 families.

Every package given to each family contained: Rice (2.5kg), Dal (1kg), Mustard Oil (500 ml bottles), Salt (500g), Biscuits (2 pkts.), Dettol Soaps (4 pcs.), Face Masks (6 pieces), Hand Sanitizer (1 bottle).

Other than low income families, Police personnel were also provided with face masks and hand sanitizer bottles.
