In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Belagavi (Belgaum) took up relief services. During a survey, it was found that nomads living in different parts of Belgaum district were not getting sufficient support. The immediate need was identified as such materials that will help them till they start earning their livelihood. A relief kit was envisaged to be distributed to these families. Each kit consisted of Grocery items. Kits were distributed on 2 and 3 April 2020 to 77 families living at Hukkeri, Sankeshwar, Hebbal and Nippani.
The total grocery items distributed were 130kg Rice, 335kg Javar, 331kg Atta, 154kg Sugar, 154kg Dal, 154 litres Oil, 98kg Rava, 12kg Tea Powder, 5.5kg Chilli Powder, 7.5kg Masala Powder and 334 Soaps.
