Arunachal Pradesh: Aalo centre distributed 50 face shield, 300 hand gloves, 50 sanitizing sprayer, 20 thermal scanners, 410 kg bleaching powder, 380 litres liquid sanitizers, 40 meter cloth for blazers among 1600 families from 1 April to 1 March.

Delhi centre distributed 31 tablet computers among TB affected children on 30 December 2020.

Kalady centre distributed 935 kg rice, 187 kg pulses, 935 kg potato, 935 kg onion, 374 litres cooking oil, 187 kg coriander powder, 187 kg chili powder, 597 bars of soap, 597 bars of washing soap, 99 kg washing powder, 93 litres lizol & harpic, 12 shirts, 24 shorts, 22 dhotis, 325 lungis and 52 ladies’ garments among 191 families on 26 & 27 March.

Thiruvalla centre distributed medicine among 15 poor patients in March.

South Africa:

(i) Durban centre, along with its sub-centres, served meals to 2910 people and distributed 3432 kg rice, 1716 kg maize meal, 1716 kg pulses, 1716 kg sugar beans, 858 kg macaroni, 172 kg assorted spices, 1716 kg salt, 1287 litres cooking oil, 1716 litres milk, 1716 kg sugar, 1,71,600 packets of tea bags, 892 kg jam, 1716 packets of soup powder, 1716 bars of bathing soap, 1716 bars of laundry soap, 1716 tubes of toothpaste etc. among 1716 families in February and March.  The centre’s clinic provided free Covid testing for 16 poor people.

(ii) Phoenix centre distributed 2400 kg rice, 350 kg maize meal, 250 kg fortified cereals, 32 kg noodles, 1000 kg pulses, 1000 kg potatoes, 60 kg squashes, 1000 kg onions,  85 kg assorted spices, 325 kg salt, 712 litres cooking oil, 700 cans of tinned food, 30 kg soup powder, 35,000 tea bags, 275 kg sugar, 350 litres milk, 200 kg milk powder, 20 kg biscuits, 4970 breakfast cereal packets, 36 packets of snacks, 400 matchboxes, 200 tubes of toothpaste, 810 bars of soap, 462 adult napkins and 278 litres detergent in March.  The centre also distributed a litre of milk and a loaf of bread each to 22 families thrice a week.  It provided with a LP gas stove and 9 kg LP gas to 4 families and installed rainwater harvesting tanks (2500 litres) for 6 families. Further, the centre’s clinic sponsored 32 dialysis sessions for three patients and provided counselling service to healthcare professionals and workers.

The glacier burst on 7 February at Tapovan in Chamoli district resulted in flooding of Rishiganga and Dhauliganga rivers causing damage to life and property. Dehradun centre distributed 4060 kg rice, 807 kg pulses, 4050 kg flour, 807 litres cooking oil, 401 kg salt, 812 kg sugar, 5 kg red gram, 50 kg potato, 3 packets of baby food, 101 kg tea, 282 kg spices, 8 bars of soap and 762 blankets among 390 families from 12 February to 27 March.

This year, 59,361 blankets and 10,896 winter garments are being distributed among the poor and needy people, through 101 of our branch centres till date.

Under the self-employment programme, the following centres distributed necessary items, shown against their names, to poor and needy people in their respective areas:

  • Koyilandy: 8 tailoring machines on 28 March.
  • Rahara: 1 cycle rickshaw, 1 rickshaw-van and 6 sewing machines on 15 March.

To extend a helping hand to the poor and needy people, 27 of our centres served 4500 plates of cooked food and distributed 6118 saris, 392 dhotis, 200 frocks, 545 lungis, 691 sets of children’s garments, 306 bed sheets, 72 assorted garments, 1185 shirts, 120 tops, 2920 trousers, cloth for 787 shirts, 250 mats, 328 towels, 260 mosquito-nets, 2040 kg rice, 383 kg dal, 1425 kg flour, 368 kg cooking oil, 263 kg salt, 225 kg sugar, 45 kg gram, 104 kg soyabean, 49 kg spices, 100 packets of biscuits, 10 packets milk powder, 22 kg tea leaves, 3150 face masks, 200 hand sanitizers, 4320 sanitary napkin, 165 bars of soap, 300 tubes of boroline, 200 school bags, 27 dictionaries, 14 boxes of chalk, 110 exercise books, 70 geometry boxes, 5 graph pads, 385 pen, 80 pencils, 14 tubes of toothpaste, 14 packets of washing powder, 14 skin moisturizers, 250 sets of cooking vessel, 11 pairs of shoes etc. among the poor and needy people. Also a solar cooker with panel and a box solar cooker were given to a primary school.
