A Brief Report of Flood Relief Work As on 28 August 2016
In the wake of severe flood situation in parts of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal affecting thousands of families, Ramakrishna Mission has initiated steps to conduct extensive primary relief work among the flood victims, as per details given below:
BIHAR
Chapra centre distributed 2000 kg chira (rice flakes) and 400 kg gur (molasses) among 806 affected families in Revelganj and Sadar blocks of Saran district from 24 to 28 August.
Patna centre distributed 10,200 kg chira, 2700 kg gur, 2700 kg salt, 2700 kg sattu (gram flour), 13,500 match boxes, 16,200 candles and 650 litres of fruit juice among 2700 families in Maner and Fatuwa blocks of Patna district from 25 to 28 August.
UTTAR PRADESH
Allahabad centre distributed 1170 kg chira, 400 kg gur, 416 kg biscuits, 1340 litres of bottled drinking water, 25 kg milk powder, 60 saris and 40 t-shirts among 700 affected families in Belli, Ganganagar, Chota Bhagara, Dhararia and Baksibandh areas of Allahabad district on 24 & 25 August.
WEST BENGAL
Antpur centre distributed 30,600 kg chira and 450 kg sugar among 8610 flood-affected families in 32 villages of Udaynarayanpur block of Howrah district and Jangira block in Hooghly district from 25 to 28 August.
Relief work will be further extended on the basis of the survey reports and current flood situations. Further reports awaited.

In the wake of severe water inundation in parts of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal affecting thousands of families, Ramakrishna Mission has initiated steps to conduct extensive primary relief service among the flood victims. The relief work so far conducted by Ramakrishna Mission centres is as given below:
Bihar:
Chapra centre distributed 1500 kg chira and 300 kg gur among 296 flood-affected families in Videhitola, Revelganj and Sadar Block areas in Chapra district on 24 & 26 August.
Patna centre distributed 3000 kg chira, 1000 kg gur, 1000 kg salt, 1000 kg chhatu, 5000 match boxes, 6000 candles, 200 ltrs. fruit juice among 1000 affected families in Maner block in Patna district.
Uttar Pradesh:
Allahabad centre distributed 1170 kg chira, 400 kg gur, 1280 packets (400 gm each) biscuits, 1000 bottles (2 litre each) drinking water, 25 kg milk powder, 60 saris and 40 t-shirts among 400 affected families in Belli, Ganganagar, Chota, Bhagara & Dhararia areas and 300 families in Baksibandh area in Allahabad on 24 & 25 August.
West Bengal:
Antpur centre distributed 30,000 kg chira and 500 kg sugar among 3630 flood-affected families in Harali, Piyarapur, Sultanpur (S), Dakshin Rampur, Pratappur, Akna-2, Ghola, Chakgara and Bayarakurchi villages of Udaynarayanpur block in Howrah district. The centre also is initiating steps to conduct primary relief at Kurchi Shibpur Singti gram panchayat in Udaynarayanpur block of Howrah district.
Relief work will be further extended on the basis of the survey reports and current flood situations. Further reports awaited.

The relief work so far conducted by Ramakrishna Mission centres is as given below:
Bihar:
Chapra centre distributed 500 kg chira and 100 kg gur among 100 Â flood-affected families in Videhitola, Revelganj area in Chapra district on 24 August.
Patna centre is taking steps to distribute dry doles and essential items to nearly 2500 affected families in Islamganj and Bhavanitola villages in Patna district.
Uttar Pradesh:
Allahabad centre distributed 1100 kg chira, 550 kg gur, 110 packets biscuits and 1000 bottles drinking water among 200 affected families in Bely village of Momfotganj area and 350 families in Baksibandh area in Allahabad on 24 August.
West Bengal:
Antpur centre is initiating steps to conduct primary relief in Udaynarayanpur area of Howrah district.
Relief work will be further extended on the basis of the survey reports and current flood situations. Further reports awaited.
