125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s return from the West to Sri Lanka


As part of the celebrations of the 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s return from the West to Sri Lanka, Ramakrishna Mission, Colombo, arranged commemorative programmes from 10 to 30 January, 2022. Swami Harivratananda, Ramakrishna Mission, Coimbatore, delivered several musical discourses (Harikatha on Swamiji) which had created waves among the devotees and admirers across Sri Lanka. The commemorative programmmes were organised at the places through which Swamiji travelled from Colombo to Jaffna in 1897 en route to India (Colombo, Kandy, Vavuniya and Jaffna) and also in the sub-centre (Batticaloa) and in various places of Sri Lanka (Karaitheevu, Vishvamadu, Trincomalee, Hattan, Kottagala, Panwila, Hunnashgiriya, Mannar, and Nanattan).
