Farmers Welfare Programme : Ranchi, April 2022


On 26th April, a program was organized by Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Morabadi, Ranchi, on “Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari (Farmers Participation, Our Priority)” campaign, on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India, at Divyan Krishi Vigyan Kendra of the centre.

The programme started with the lighting of lamps and Vedic chanting. The campaign was launched by Hon’ble Agriculture and Welfare Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar remotely. Dr. Rajesh Kumar, program coordinator in-charge of Divyan Krishi Vigyan Kendra welcomed all the visitors. Assistant Professor, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekanand University, Dr. Ardeep Shankar gave detailed information on the production of ragi, millet and other crops in Jharkhand and the need for nutrition especially among children/women. The lack of production of ragi, millet and other crops, and the coordination and non-availability of nutrients containing vitamins / fiber in the food, were said to be the main reasons for malnutrition. Agriculture Minister, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar had a direct conversation with the partcipants, and he praised the achievements of the institute in the field of agriculture. He called for increasing the income of farmers by adopting new technology through hi-tech farming in the country, and  urged to move forward by joining various schemes of the government through new technology like hydroponic, aeroponic, vertical farming and drone technology.

In the program, Swami Antaranand, Assistant Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Ranchi, called upon the farmers to become prosperous farmers and self-dependent farmers by taking technology from Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra. Shri Manoj Singh, agronomist of Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra called for increasing the production area of ​​oilseeds and pulses in the state and reducing imports from other countries. Dr. Vishakha Singh of the center called for producing bio-fortified varieties and being health conscious.

Around 300 farmers participated in the programme.
