Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Medinipur, celebrated the National Youth Day on 12 January 2023 by way of colourful procession through prominent streets of Medinipur town.
The rally consisting of 200 students started from the Ashrama with the reciting Swadesh Mantra, songs, placard, bands, and culminated at the statue of Swami Vivekananda at Battala chowk, 2 km from the Ashrama, and thereafter monks and other dignitaries of the town garland the statue. The procession ended at Ashrama and refreshment packets were distributed to all participants. After that, they all assembled in the Hall and Swami Jayeshanada Swami Jnanivrananda addressed them on Swami Vivekananda’ Ideal.
In this connection the Ashrama organized an Essay competition in which 200 school students took part. Prizes were distributed among successful candidates on that day.
Besides this, on 12 and 13 January, there were five Youth Meetings addressed by Swami Mayadhishananda, Swami Shashadharananda, Swami Jnanivarananda in Paschim Medinipur District and discussed about the significance of the National Youth Day.
