Ramakrishna Mission, Narianpur celebrated National Youth Day 2023 along with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and the 125th anniversary of Ramakrishna Mission.
The day started with a grand procession from the Ashram premises at 6.30 am. About 8000 children and teachers from nearby schools of Narainpur and 2000 studying students and all the staff of the ashram, in total about 10 thousand people have participated in this grand procession. Children from all the schools around Narainpur were brought to the Ashram at 5 O’clock in the morning by bus and were taken back after lunch.
After the procession, the presentation of speech, recitation, solo dance, group dance etc. by the students from different schools started from 9 am at the Ashrama’s sports complex. Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Handicrafts Development Board and MLA of Narainpur region Mr. Chandan Kashyap was present as the chief guest in the main meeting at 10.30 am. Congress district president of Narainpur district Mr. Devnath Usendi was present as a special guest. Along with them, Mrs. Shyamwati Netam, President District Panchayat, Narainpur, Mrs. Sunita Manjhi, Municipal President, Mr. Pramod Nailwal, Vice President, District Congress and other guests were present as special guests. The program was presided over by the secretary of the ashram, Swami Vyaptananda Maharaj. Welcome speech was given by Swami Krishnamritananda, Principal, Vivekananda Vidyapeeth, Narainpur. Other monastics Swami Anubhavananda Assistant Secretary, Swami Devanathananda, Swami Vasudananda, Swami Maheshananda, Swami Apatlokananda, Swami Alipatatmananda, Swami Pranatpalananda and other Swamijis.
Mr. Chandan Kashyap ji inspired the children to become good citizens by imbibing the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda through his speech. In the presidential speech, Secretary Maharaj explained how working for others gives indomitable enthusiasm from the inside and said that those who live by begging have their heads down, but we saint also do alms, but with our heads raised because beggars People beg for themselves and sages do not beg for themselves but for others.
Even after the meeting, the presentation of colourful cultural programs by the children continued till about one o’clock.
A drama “Prabuddha Bharat” based on the life and thoughts of Swami Vivekananda by 70 children from class 6th to 9th of the ashram was staged in the evening program of 12th January and 14th January 2023 under National Youth Day 2023. In the evening program of Saturday, January 14, along with the same drama, the dance “Chhattisgarh Darshan” was also presented by the girl students of our Vivekananda Vidyapeeth. 750 boys and girls from various schools of Narayanpur participated to watch the programme, along with about 1100 children studying in the ashram and 200 children from ITI also participated. Altogether 2000 children and around 200 staff and guests enjoyed the programme.
