A public function was organised at Ramakrishna Advaita Ashrama, Kalady, Kerala on 26 February 2023 to reminiscence on Swami Ganananda ji, the former Adhyaksha of Kalady Ashrama, and the release of his book, Maranathe Marikadakkuvanulla Vazhikal (Ways to Overcome Death) in the Ashrama auditorium. Swami Vamadevananda ji, a senior monk of the Ashrama, delivered a welcome address where he mentioned two memorable and touching incidents which revealed the real tyaga of Swami Ganananda ji.
Swami Srividyananda, the Adhyaksha of Kalady Ashrama conferred the Presidential address. He spoke about the essence of the book, in a nutshell, on how to become fearless.
Dr. N. Jayaraj, Chief Whip, Govt. of Kerala inaugurated the meeting. He narrated some of his memorable experiences with Swami Ganananda ji while studying in the ashram School and Gurukulam.
Swami Sadbhavananda, Adhyaksha, Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Thrissur, gave a copy of the book to Adv. A. S. P. Kurup and made the formal release of the book.
Swami Sadbhavananda ji informed about the written works of Swami Ganananda ji which were published in Prabudha Keralam during his life time and is now available in this book form, which will be of immense help to the readers to purify their minds through Karma, Bhakti, and Jnana. He also informed that Swami Tatwamayananda ji, a senior monk from San Francisco, USA, and earlier editor of Prabuddha Keralam sponsored the printing works of the book.
Sri Jayaraj Bharathi, programme coordinator, Swami Vaidya Gurukulam, and Prof. Vasantha Kumari Sree Shankara Sanskrit University, briefly introduced the subject matter of the book.
Prof. A Subramanya Iyyar, Manager Sringeri Math, Sri P. B. Sajeev, Ward Member, Kalady Town Grampanchayat, Sri Sreemoolanagaram Mohan, writer and former Secretary of Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy & Kerala Lalitha Kala Academy, Sri S. Vijayan of Sri Ramakrishna Bhakta Sangham, Sri K. Jayakumar, Headmaster, BHSS, Kalady also spoke on the occasion. Smt. Seetha K Kutty Amma M.K. delivered the vote of thanks. Lunch prasad was provided to all.
