Flood Relief : Durban, South Africa, April 2022

There was a devastation caused by the torrential rains around Durban and the coastal areas of KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa, from 8 – 12 April 2022. More than 450 people have lost their lives and a large number of people are still missing. There have been significant damages to infrastructure such as roads, bridges, water and electricity as well as schools, housing and so on.

The different units of Ramakrishna Centre of South Africa, Durban, South Africa, have started relief activities in several areas to alleviate the plight of those most affected by the flood damage. The centre distributed food packets to 300 families in Chatsworth, Blackburn, Greenbury, Reservoir Hills, Clare Estate and Tongaat.

In addition, 100 bottles of water (5 litre each), clothes and blankets were distributed in the Blackburn and Chatsworth areas.
