The Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Chennai conducted its Annual Sports Meet on Saturday, 8th February 2025, followed by the celebration of its 120th Home Day on Sunday, 9th February 2025.
Annual Sports Meet
Sri T. Sasikumar, Vice President, CSR & Corporate Affairs, Ashok Leyland Limited, inaugurated the Sports Meet, distributed prizes to the winners, and released the “Home Souvenir – 2025.” The event featured vibrant cultural performances by students, including a drama on the life of Sri Shankaracharya enacted by students of the Polytechnic College. Over 1,600 parents attended the program and were served cooked prasad.
120th Home Day Celebration
The Home Day function was presided over by Swami Satyeshananda ji, Assistant General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math. In his inspiring address, he highlighted Tamil Nadu’s rich spiritual heritage, Swami Vivekananda’s meditation at Kanyakumari, and the Chennai devotees’ unwavering support for Swamiji’s mission, particularly recalling Sri Alasingaperumal’s sacrifice in funding Swamiji’s Chicago journey.
The event was graced by Sri G. Balasubramanian, Vice President, Larsen & Toubro (Corporate Center), Chennai, and an esteemed Old Boy of the institution, as the Chief Guest. Padma Bhushan Dr. Nalli Kuppuswami Chettiar, Vice President, Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Chennai, was the Special Guest.
More than 1,500 alumni and their families participated in the celebration and received dinner prasad.
