Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Jalpaiguri celebrated “Dedicated to Swami Vivekananda” and “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” with the 10 days programme in six segments. The brief report of the programmes is as follows –
Event No. 1
Skill Competition: On July 30 & 31, 2022 this competition was organized at Ashrama Campus for 6th to 12thstandard students from various schools of Jalpaiguri. This competition has three parts- Drawing, Essay writing and Speech. Total No. of participants- 125. All the participants were honoured with certificates. Winners, Runners and third placed received Medal, Books, folders and certificate of honour.
Event No. 2
Football Tournament: From 4th to 7th August 2022 Football Tournament for under 18 years Boys was organized at Town Club Ground, Jalpaiguri. 8 teams from Jalpaiguri and nearby places took part in the tournament. The winner and runner were awarded with Swamiji’s Photo, Books, Medals and Certificate. A good number of spectators were present to cheer up the players every day.
Event No. 3
Youth Convention: On August 8, 2022, Youth Convention was organized at Sarada Sabhagriha of our Ashrama. Monastics, staff, volunteers and 211 students along with their teachers of 11 schools participated in this event. Vedic Chanting, Speeches, Interaction Session, Guided Meditation and Patriotic Songs were the attractions of this programme. At the end, complementary gifts were given to all the participants.
Event No. 4
Public Conference at Jalpaiguri: On August 13, 2022, Public Conference was organized at Sarada Sabhagriha of our Ashrama. Vedic Chanting, Sri Ramakrishna Stotram, Speeches by Senior Monastic of Ramakrishna Order, Guided Meditation, Devotional Song, and Interaction Session were the attraction of this programme. Revered Swami Divyanandaji Maharaj, Revered Swami Bhavarupanandaji Maharaj and Swami Purneshwarananda and other monastic inmates delivered inspiring speeches. Swami Tadyuktananda performed devotional songs. 265 delegates and Monastic members, staff and volunteers attended this convention.
Event No. 5
Public Conference at Siliguri: On August 13, 2022, Public Conference was organized at Uttarbanga Marwari Palace, 2-1/2 Mile, Sevoke Road, Siliguri. Vedic Chanting, SriRamakrishna Stotram, Speeches by Senior Monastic of Ramakrishna Order, Guided Meditation, Devotional Song, and Interaction Session were the attraction of this programme. Revered Swami Divyanandaji Maharaj, Revered Swami Bhavarupanandaji Maharaj, Revered Swami Achyutatmanandaji Maharaj, Swami Purneshwarananda and other Monastic inmates delivered inspiring speeches. Swami Tadyuktananda performed devotional songs. 450 delegates and Monastic members, staff and volunteers attended this convention.
Event No. 6
Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: On August 15, 2022, to commemorate the 75th year of Indian Independence Ashrama organized “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”. At the beginning, Revered Swami Bhavarupanandaji Maharaj unfurled the National flag. After that, a massive programme was held at Sarada Sabhagriha of our Ashrama. Patriotic songs, Speeches, Speeches by the winner of the speech competition and prize distribution with complimentary gifts (Books & Photos) are highlights of the programme. Revered Swami Bhavarupanandaji Maharaj and Monastic inmates delivered inspiring speeches. Swami Tadyuktananda performed patriotic songs. The prizes distribution ceremony was also arranged for the Winners of the Skill Competition. 150 people attended the programme in all.
