A BRIEF REPORT OF RECENT RELIEF SERVICES AS ON 01 MARCH 2017

WINTER RELIEF:

A total of 49,091 blankets and 1,15,347 winter garments were distributed by 102 of our centres (including 5 in Bangladesh), among poor people affected by winter, flood, fire etc.

 

FLOOD RELIEF:

Bihar: Chapra centre distributed 5811 saris, 5227 dhotis, 1000 blankets and 960 jackets among 7771 flood affected families in 37 villages of Chapra district from 1 October to 5 December. Patna centre distributed 6480 saris, 6000 dhotis, 960 jackets and 1000 blankets among 2950 flood-affected families in Patna and Rajgir districts from 30 September to 1 December.

DISTRESS RELIEF:

Under the ‘Garments Distribution Programme’, 2,13,533 shirts, 1,98,608 pants, 17,965 T-shirts, 458 shorts, 2702 leggings, 1071 tunics, 85,295 tops, 7098 women’s dresses, 573 outwears, 1539 frocks and 25,809 pairs of socks are being distributed among poor and needy people though 83 of our centres in different parts of the country.

 

DROUGHT REHABILITATION:

(i) Telangana: Hyderabad centre installed water purification plants (reverse osmosis) at Antappaguda and Devalabhadra villages in Ranga Reddy and Srikakulam districts respectively to provide safe drinking water to the villagers. The plants were inaugurated on 22 January and 9 February respectively.
