Bronze Medals in International Karate Championship: Jhargram, July 2024

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jhargram, West Bengal


Three students from Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jhargram, have secured four bronze medals at the 8th International Karate Championship held at Netaji Indoor Stadium on July 27, 2024. The event, organized by Global Seishinkai Shito-ryu Karate Federation and sanctioned by Karate India and Bengal Olympic Association, witnessed participation from approximately 8,000 athletes representing nine countries, including Bangladesh, Malaysia, Iran, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Oman, and India.

The Ashrama’s medalists include:

  • Anindita Hembram (VIII): Bronze in Kata and Kumite events.
  • Riya Saren (VIII): Bronze in Kata event.
  • Susmita Sabar (IX): Bronze in Kata event.

These exceptional achievements were recognized at a felicitation ceremony held in Jhargram on August 9, 2024, graced by the presence of the Honorable Chief Minister of West Bengal.
