As a part of 125th Anniversary of Ramakrishna Mission, our Rajkot Centre organised a public meeting with the theme ‘Ramakrishna Mission – Its Ideals and Activities’ on 5th February, 2023 in which 125 monks of various parts of India and a few from other countries participated apart from about 1500 devotees. 9 Monks delivered speeches centering round the main theme.
On this occasion, Rajkot centre organised Gujarat Tirth Yatra from 1st to 9th February, 2023. 116 monks (including 66 Heads of Centres) from various parts of India and from other countries joined the Tirth Yatra. The purpose of the Yatra was to give an opportunity to the monks to visit the places sanctified by Swami Vivekananda in Gujarat in 1891-92. The monks visited Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Statue of Unity, Limbdi, Rajkot, Girnar, Somnath, Porbandar and Dwarka.
The special features of the Yatra were — an informal meeting with the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Rajnikant Patel, at Ahmedabad on 2nd February who came all the way to the residence of the monks and welcomed them on behalf of Gujarat state; Traditional Reception by the Royal family of Gaekwad in the historic Laxmi Vilas Palace, Vadodara on 4th February, and darshan of Dwarka and Somnath specially arranged by the Government of Gujarat.
The people of Gujarat gave traditional welcome to the monks at Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Limbdi, Rajkot and Porbandar.
