164th Jayanti of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi celebrated with Special Puja and Homa at the Math on Tuesday, 20th December 2016. Various activities were held at the Math during the celebration.
Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, observed 164th Birthday of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi on 20 December, 2016, with spiritual fervour and festivity. A special Puja along with other events like homa, pushpanajali, devotional songs and reading from the scriptures was held in the morning, in the Temple. Cooked Prasad was served to the devotees after the Temple events.
A nice Geeti Alekhya (lyrical performance)- `Maa Sarada’ by children artistes was performed in the  evening (started at 5:00 pm.) at the Vivekananda Hall of Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, which was followed by discussion meeting on the topic- `Universal Mother Sri Maa Sarada Devi’. Professor Sadeka Halim, Department of Social Science, University of Dhaka, addressed the discussion meeting as the Chief Guest. Srimati Mandira Chowdhury, Asst Professor, Dept of Philophy, University of Dhaka, and Chitra Roy, Advocate, Bangladesh Supreme Court, discussed the subject matter as Hon’ble Speakers of this meeting, chaired by Dr. Madavi Rani Chanda, Dept. of Sanskrit, University of Dhaka. Srimat Swami Ameyanandaji Maharaj delivered words of benediction while Swami Dhruveshanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, delivered welcome speech and Swami Sthiratmanandaji Maharaj delivered inaugural speech. The song `Ebar Habey Navin Mantrey’ composed by National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam was sung as inaugural song in this session.
After the discussion, eminent Radio and TV Artistes Priyanka Gope, Ananya and Mugdha sang devotional songs. About 3000 people attended the programs.

The 164th Birthday of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi was celebrated with due solemnity on 20th December, 2016. The auspicious day began with Managalarati at 5:30 am, followed by Vedic chanting and hymns by the Sadhus and Brahmacharins. Special worship, Havan, Chandi Recital and Bhajans were conducted in the main temple in which many Sadhus, Devotees and staff participated and received blessings of the Holy Mother.
At 10.30 am patients admitted in our Charitable Hospital were ceremoniously worshipped as ‘Rogi Narayan’ with the offerings of sandal paste, garland, fruits, sweets and finally Arati in the presence of sadhus, devotees, nurses and others.
As a part of ’Nara Narayan Seva’ or Service to poor, 2200 poor and aged widow mothers were served noon Prasad sumptuously. In addition 1600 of them received a gift packet consisting of a woolen Sweater, a dhoti, oil, two soaps, and a socks packet. A number of devotees, local people, students of Swami Vivekananda Bal Vikas Kendra, volunteers from Mathura Refinery and Gayatri Tapobhumi – in all about 1200 people, who had gathered for the occasion also received noon prasad.
Ma Sarada Kutir (Kala Babu’s Kunj), the memorial in Vrindavan sanctified by the stay of the Holy Mother and consecrated on 12th September 2012, was beautifully decorated on this day. A number of devotees visited the memorial and paid their reverential homage to the Holy Mother.
